Daiwa 24 Revros LT: The Budget Spinning Reel With Real Daiwa Technology
If you are new to lure fishing, the usual dilemma is this: good reels are expensive, and cheap reels feel like they will break. The Daiwa 24 Revros LT is Daiwa’s answer for that buyer – an entry-level reel, priced around 10,000 yen, that still gets a surprising amount of Daiwa’s current technology. For fishing off a breakwater, it is more than enough reel.
What is new over the 20 Revros
- AIRDRIVE DESIGN – an Airdrive rotor, Airdrive bail and a new arm lever make the reel lighter than the 20 model. The rotor also cuts unnecessary material while improving strength and stiffness, and the handle starts turning more easily.
- Tough Digigear – strong enough not to give way to a big fish, while winding lightly and smoothly the rest of the time.
- A new bail arm lever shape – designed to reduce line trouble, which matters a lot to anyone who just wants to fish without fuss.
The other Daiwa technology inside
ATD TYPE-L drag
A responsive drag that keeps slipping smoothly once a fish runs – reducing the chance of a line break and the strain on the rod. (Setting it properly is covered in my drag guide.)
LC-ABS spool
A spool lip shape that lets line leave with less resistance. Daiwa quotes 5 percent more distance than its older ABS II design, and fewer tangles – useful when casting light lures.

Revros or Freams?
The Revros is the cheapest way into a modern Daiwa spinning reel. If your budget stretches to about double, the 26 Freams adds MAGSEALED sealing and ZAION V parts. For a first reel, or a spare for a travel kit, the Revros is plenty.
Verdict
The 24 Revros LT is lighter than before, smoother, and much harder to tangle – with a size for almost every kind of shore fishing, all at around 10,000 yen. If you want to start lure fishing without spending a lot, this is one of the safest places to begin.
