The Certate HD line was last updated in 2016, so the 26 Certate HD is a long-awaited return. HD stands for heavy duty: a Certate built for big fish, with more rigidity, more durability and — the headline change — an aluminium rotor.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN — Daiwa’s concept for moving lures exactly as you intend, combining the AIRDRIVE rotor, bail, spool and shaft.
Aluminium AIRDRIVE rotor — improves handling, sensitivity and winding power, and stands up better to heavy loads than a resin rotor.
MONOCOQUE BODY — more precise gear support, higher rigidity and better sealing, with the drive gear enlarged to the limit for more cranking power.

The aluminium rotor is the big story: it gives the HD a solid, no-flex feel under load that you notice on every hookset and every heavy lure. For seabass anglers chasing big fish, rockfish, or anyone who found the standard Certate a little light for their fishing, the 26 Certate HD is the sweet spot below the SW.
