Bassday Hades 150F: A 40 g, 150 mm Minnow for Big-Bait Lunkers
Late autumn is lunker season as seabass chase gizzard shad (konoshiro), post-spawn ayu and big sardines. Right on time, Bassday has added the biggest model yet to its popular Hades series: the Hades 150F.
It is a 150 mm, 40 g floating minnow sized for predators feeding on big bait, released in autumn 2026 for surf, river mouths, rocks and piers.

40 g is heavy for a floating minnow this length — it helps a lot into the wind and on the surf.
Key features
- TSL locks four large tungsten balls, giving both stable flight and a stable swim.
- Fast weight return — it starts swimming right after splashdown, so you can work boils from the first cast.
- Natural swim from the 127F, with “eat-me” pauses as it drifts out of the current and a slow, no-retrieve drift.
- Wake and sound just below the surface help fish find it at night, in low light or in stained water.
- Heavy-wire #2 trebles ready for lunker seabass and pelagics straight out of the pack.
Hades 150F vs 127F
| Hades 150F | Hades 127F | |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 150 mm | 127 mm |
| Weight | 40.0 g | 25.3 g |

| Hooks | #2 heavy wire | #4 heavy wire |
| Bait | Gizzard shad, big sardines, ayu | Sardines, anchovies, standard bait |
| Distance | “Overwhelming” per Bassday | Up to 70 m (stated) |
Use the 127F to search shallows on small-bait days, and the 150F when gizzard shad or ayu are around and you are after big fish only.
How to fish it
- Slow straight retrieve just under the surface with a wake — the basic approach.
- Drift with no retrieve in river current.
- Use the pause as it swings out of the current seam.
- Cast ahead of boils — it starts swimming instantly.
| Place | Approach |
|---|---|
| Surf | When shad or big sardines push in, work rip edges and the breaking line slowly |
| River mouth | Drift the current seams on the outgoing tide when ayu or shad wash down |
| Rocks / piers | Trace the edges of white water and current lines just under the surface for hirasuzuki and pelagics |

Minagiman’s take
The Hades 127F is a great shallow minnow, but when gizzard shad or ayu arrive it can lack silhouette. The 150F fills exactly that gap, and 40 g means fewer “I can’t reach them” moments on the surf and in big river mouths — while keeping the 127F’s knack for creating a bite. Popular colours sell out fast, so pick one or two that match your bait early.
