Tips for end-of-year buying
- Check the release month: new items often sell out at launch, so pre-order if you can
- Watch for price drops on old models: new releases can make previous models cheaper
- Check sale dates: big sales such as Amazon Japan’s Black Friday usually run in late November
- Work back from the season: buy winter clothing and smelt gear before the season starts
My take
Daiwa’s November and December lineup focuses on rock, boat, pond-smelt and stream fishing for winter and spring. For lure anglers, the Zillion SV TW 100, Steez BF, Dragger SX and Shoreline Shiner SL stand out. The end of the year is a good time to review your tackle for next season.
