DUEL Monster Game 9: 8+1 PE Braid With Models for Casting, Eging, Jigging, Tai Rubber and Ika Metal

DUEL has released Monster Game 9, a range of PE braid with models made for specific types of fishing. Instead of choosing line just by size or number of strands, you can now pick the model built for your style. There are five models, covering most kinds of saltwater lure fishing.
Key feature: C.I.P. (Core Integration Process)
The headline is DUEL’s own C.I.P. (Core Integration Process). A super-strong PE core is braided over with eight PE strands at optimised tension and pitch, combining them into one line. DUEL says this 8+1 construction improves durability, abrasion resistance, sensitivity and handling compared with standard 8-strand braid.
The straight high-strength core adds resistance to abrasion, so it holds up in long fights. Sensitivity is also high, so you can feel very light bites.

Why fishing-specific line helps
- Eging: eging rods have small guides, so a coating that reduces tangles with hard jerks is very welcome
- Casting: a slick coating helps distance, and a bright colour helps you follow the line
- Vertical, tai rubber and ika metal: low water resistance and clear depth markings matter more than distance
My take
It is not just the same line in different sizes. The casting model is pink for visibility, and the eging model is coated to reduce tangles. If you are re-spooling, picking the Monster Game 9 model that matches your fishing is an easy upgrade.
